Hoping for something special this weekend, Scott Kalitta's teammates are back after pulling out of competition at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. How young is too young for a driver to race in NASCAR's top three series? That question has been asked over and over again, especially recently with the emergence of Joey "Sliced Bread" Logano in the Nationwide Series. In the early years of NASCAR's modern era, a driver was lucky to get a ride in the Grand National Series before the age of 28. Now, many young drivers only have to wait until their 18th birthday to make their national racing debut. But the question that must be asked is if these potential NASCAR champions have the maturity and experience to compete with all the veteran drivers without becoming a hazard on the track.
Kyle Busch dominated the field on Sunday afternoon and was able to drive his #18 M&Ms Toyota to victory lane in his fifth victory of the season in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway. Busch started his day at the rear of the field, qualifying 30th on Friday night. Busch's victory on Sunday is his first victory on a road course. He was able to capitalize on pit strategy and mistakes by other drivers, while avoiding making any mistakes of his own. For the fifth time this season, the race ended with a green white checkered finish. Busch's victory marks the second time in a row that a driver won the race in Sonoma after starting 30th or worse.

Chrissy Wallace's second career start had no lack or drama or action. Some have pre-emptively given her the title of the second coming of Danica Patrick. Well, ironically, she was caught up in an accident in turn 1 in the same spot and similar fashion as Danica Patrick's run-in with Dan Wheldon one year ago. Oh yeah, and they were both at Milwaukee.
Coming off a historic weekend, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series makes its yearly visit to Infineon Raceway this weekend for the Toyota / Save Mart 350. The challenging road course in beautiful Sonoma, California always provides an exciting race with Sprint Cup regulars and road course ringers. Infineon Raceway gives NASCAR drivers the opportunity to show the world that they can master any type of track that they drive on. No one can be guaranteed a victory, or even a strong finish, at the track where one mistake can cost a driver greatly. Despite that, here are some drivers to watch in the Toyota / Save Mart 350.
On Sunday night, Dale Earnhardt Jr. scored his first victory in over two years at Michigan International Speedway. The victory, however was not without controversy, as many drivers, crew chiefs, and fans questioned NASCAR's judgement, allowing Earnhardt Jr. to pass the pace car during the final caution, in an effort to save gas. At the beginning of the season, NASCAR chairman Brian France stated that if Dale Earnhardt Jr. does well, NASCAR does well. The question being asked by drivers, teams, and fans is if NASCAR is playing favorites, bending the rules and skewing the results of the race to help a specific team or driver.
It was over two years in the making, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. has captured his first victory in 76 races in the LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Earnhardt Jr. had was running consistently in the top ten all day, but was having issues on restarts, not being able to get his car running strong until about ten laps into a green flag run. In the end, however, it was fuel milage, and good luck, that allowed Dale Earnhardt Jr. to take his #88 Amp Energy Drink Chevy to victory lane, his first points paying victory since moving to Hendrick Motorsports at the beginning of the 2008 season.
