Justin Lofton claimed his fourth ARCA RE/MAX Series win of the season on Friday night in the Ansell Cut Protection 150 at Chicagoland Speedway and in doing so, reclaimed the lead in the point standings. The 23-year-old dominated the 100-lap event in the No. 6 Lofton Cattle Toyota after starting from the third position. He led a race-high 55 laps and held off a hungry Grant Enfinger following a restart just one lap from the finish.
August 22nd may just be a routine late summer Saturday for some, but for the sleepy little town of Mechanicsville, Maryland this year it means hosting the 12th round of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship race at Budds Creek Motocross Park.
Wednesday afternoon, NASCAR came to Washington and Washington put on one heck of a show. President Obama hosted Jimmie Johnson and the 2008 Chasers as well as legends such as Richard Petty and Rusty Wallace. The President also hosted Kyle Petty and several families of children from Kyle's Victory Junction Gang Camp. President Obama spoke about NASCAR's spirit of service and charity as well as NASCAR as an American past-time.
The Mid Atlantic Championship Series super late model touring division came to Potomac Speedway on a perfect August night. Perfect weather, and no rain, after two straight weeks of battling weather greeted some of the region’s biggest drivers. Rick Eckert, Jason Covert, Austin Hubbard and Booper Bare all came out to race with local regulars David Williams, DJ Myers, Kyle Lear and Jamie Lathroum among others. A 26 car variety of speedway regulars and touring drivers made up the impressive Super Late Model field.
