Since the beginning of the season, Toyota teams have dominated in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, capturing 14 wins so far. Many critics, especially Jack Roush, have argued that the Toyota teams have had so much success in the NASCAR Nationwide series because of a horsepower advantage in the engine package developed by Toyota Racing Development. After continuous testing throughout the season in the dyno machines, NASCAR finally acknowledged the critic's concerns and issued a technical bulletin requiring all the teams using Toyota engines to reduce the amount of horsepower in order to provide an even level of competition among the four manufacturers in the series. But will this move by NASCAR finally end criticism that the sanctioning body has shown favoritism towards Toyota?

LIVING HISTORY EVENT In his third career start, Joey Logano became the third straight first time winner at Kentucky Speedway. Logano won the race from the pole, which was his second straight pole in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Logano has won in everything he's raced in, including a historic ARCA victory at Rockingham in May, and he's only 18. |

Mark Martin has called him "the real deal". Joe Gibbs Racing has invested a lot of time and effort in him. On Saturday, Joey Logano will make his long awaited debut in the NASCAR Nationwide series, driving the #20 Gamestop Toyota in the Helluva Good! 200 at Dover International Raceway. Logano has been long considered the best driver with the greatest potential in the regional series in which he has raced in. The question on everyone's mind, however, is if Logano will be able to live up to his expectations, or if he will be another "also ran" in NASCAR's three national series. |

There has been a major change in the NASCAR Nationwide series, and yet no one seems to have noticed. For the first time in recent memory, half of the top ten drivers in the Nationwide Series are "Nationwide only" drivers. Mike Bliss leads the Nationwide only drivers, sitting fifth in the standings, 141 points behind series leader Clint Bowyer. Despite the top four drivers being double duty drivers, the current standings show that things are finally changing in the series which many have come to see as practice sessions for the Sprint Cup drivers. As new drivers come in, the series evolves and the new car is introduced, the Nationwide Series may finally have an even playing field, that could end the dominance of the Sprint Cup drivers. |

The NASCAR Nationwide Series made its annual trip to Mexico City for the Corona Mexico 200 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Kyle Busch had a strong showing all day and took his #20 Doosan Toyota to victory lane in front of the the great crowd. This would be his third consecutive victory this season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Like many road course races, the Corona Mexico 200 became a fuel mileage race, where pit strategy became very important toward the ends of the race. The intensity of the race picked up in the second half of the race, as the drivers became more aggressive as the laps wound down. Tempers flared, and cars got spun, but in the end, Kyle Busch would be victorious in Mexico City. |
