Chris Eggleston to race for SS Green Light Racing in 2010

By Summer Dreyer on Friday, 19th February 2010

Chris Eggleston was recently added to SS Green Light Racing’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series lineup for the 2010 season. Eggleston will be racing the team’s No. 21 Truck in at least three races throughout the season, beginning at Martinsville Speedway on March 27th.

The Erie, Colorado native is a champion in the ASA Late Models North Division and finished fourth in the ASA Challenge Series in 2009. Eggleston is an honors student in Business Management at Colorado State University. He has been racing since age five when he began racing quarter midgets and won over 300 races and six National Championships within 10 years. Eggleston has also found success racing Legends cars in the past, and still competes in Legends races every once in a while.

“I watched Chris on several occasions in the ASA Challenge Series in 2009. He is a very fast and smart racer,” said Butch Miller, who will be overseeing Eggleston’s efforts in NCWTS competition. When the time is right Chris has the ability to get up on the wheel. His light weight is a crew chiefs dream. Chris is very bright, he’s exceptionally well spoken and I think he’s got a very bright future in this sport. I’m excited to get the opportunity to work with him.”

“I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to get the chance to drive in one of the NASCAR touring series,” said Eggleston. “SS Green Light Racing has impressed me with their results recently and winning the pole at Daytona is proof they have the right people and equipment to help me develop my skills as a NASCAR driver. My goal for Martinsville is to run 250 laps and finish the race.”

After Martinsville, SS Green Light is planning on running Eggleston at Nashville Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway, pending NASCAR approval.
