DC Region Motorsports Update

By Andy Marquis on Tuesday, 8th September 2009

Jamie Lathroum swept all three DC region dirt Super Late Model races, with 2 wins at Potomac and a win at Hagerstown while David Williams won the track championship at Potomac.

“This car has been so good.” Lathroum explained in victory lane “Its so easy to drive it’s like driving down the highway, I think it has a mind of it’s own.” With his win, Lathroum became the 17th different driver to win the McBee memorial at Potomac. “It’s a20big honor to win this race.” Lathroum replied. “I never got to race with him but I guess he was really good because you still hear his name an awful lot.”

“I cant thank George and Tina Moreland enough.” Williams stated. “They gave me the opportunity to drive their car this season and I’m glad we could pull off the championship for them.” Heats for the 21 cars on hand went to Roland Mann, Rick Hulson and Daryl Hills.

CE Falk won one of two twin late model feature races atLangley Speedway.  But he isn’t satisfied unless he wins both.

“I don’t know,” Falk stated in a press release.  “I feel like, these twin races, it’s not really a win ‘til you win both of ‘em. We gotta make one adjustment on this car. We were a little too tight, but Danny seemed to be really good. I don’t know how much he was riding. And, Paul (DeBolt), he’s gonna be good for the next one.”

David Polnez won at Old Dominion Speedway for the third time in his career.
